Sustainable Future Tech (SFT) Fundraising Update
Since launching our $2M SAFE round in mid-March, we’ve received over 20 pitch deck requests from strategic investors and funds aligned with our vision for scalable deeptech innovation across quantum-classical systems, sustainable energy, and AI governance.
We’re excited by the strong early interest and engagement across the deeptech and climate innovation communities.
Our team is advancing multiple IP commercialization pathways, supported by strategic grants like MIPS and a robust 2025–2026 technical roadmap.

- $2M SAFE seed round is open (Tranche 1: $1M with 20% discount) with strong early interest and engagement

- Otto Starzmann, Ph.D. (Grant Writer) is leading preparation of our MIPS Phase I technical validation grant in collaboration with the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (UMD CEEE)
April 2025
- SFT: Numerous web site updates
- ZNES: Designed refrigerant-free Stirling engine chiller and filed provisional patent application
- ZNES: Established collaboration with major Stirling engine manufacturer
- ZNES: Released 63-page paper “A Solar-Thermal Architecture for Grid-Independent Heating, Cooling, and Power Using Thermal Storage and Dual Stirling Engines”
- ZNES: Collaborate with the University of Maryland Department of Mechanical Engineering to prepare Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) Phase 1 technical validation grant application
March 2025
- $2M SAFE seed round is opened March 11 (Tranche 1: $1M with 20% discount), with Pitch Deck and Investor Data Room available to accredited investors
- ZNES: Completed pre-accelerator program at the Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator (MEIA). One key outcome was adding the energy generation market as a segment to address.
- ZNES: ZNES & University of Maryland Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (UMD CEEE) begin collaboration with Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) in preparation for Phase 1 technical validation grant application
February 2025
- ZNES: Established collaboration with University of Maryland Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (UMD CEEE) to apply for grant funding to support technical validation and pilot implementation of Zero Net Energy System
- ZNES: Began pre-accelerator program at the Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator (MEIA).
