The updates below chronicle our progress across grant development, technical design, academic publication, IP filing, team formation, and platform integration.

Sustainable Future Tech (SFT) Fundraising Update

Since launching our $2M SAFE round in mid-March, we’ve received over 20 pitch deck requests from strategic investors and funds aligned with our vision for scalable deeptech innovation across quantum-classical systems, sustainable energy, and AI governance.

We’re excited by the strong early interest and engagement across the deeptech and climate innovation communities.

Our team is advancing multiple IP commercialization pathways, supported by strategic grants like MIPS and a robust 2025–2026 technical roadmap.

As of April 2025:

  • $2M SAFE seed round is open (Tranche 1: $1M with 20% discount) with strong early interest and engagement
  • Pitch Deck and Investor Data Room are available to accredited investors
  • Otto Starzmann, Ph.D. (Grant Writer) is leading preparation of our MIPS Phase I technical validation grant in collaboration with the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (UMD CEEE)

March 2025

  • $2M SAFE seed round is opened March 11 (Tranche 1: $1M with 20% discount), with Pitch Deck and Investor Data Room available to accredited investors
  • ZNES: Completed pre-accelerator program at the Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator (MEIA). One key outcome was adding the energy generation market as a segment to address.
  • ZNES: ZNES & University of Maryland Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (UMD CEEE) begin collaboration with Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) in preparation for Phase 1 technical validation grant application

February 2025

  • ZNES: Established collaboration with University of Maryland Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (UMD CEEE) to apply for grant funding to support technical validation and pilot implementation of Zero Net Energy System
  • ZNES: Began pre-accelerator program at the Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator (MEIA).
  • SFT: Investor Data Room set up
  • ZNES: Zero Net Energy Homes becomes Zero Net Energy Systems Inc, a subsidiary of Sustainable Future Tech Inc
  • QPS: University collaboration initiated with decision to identify grant targets and align university resources for Q-PAD
  • QILIS: QILIS Inc is formed, as subsidiary of Sustainable Future Tech Inc
  • NRM: Nature Risk Management Inc is formed, as subsidiary of Sustainable Future Tech Inc
  • QPS: Quantum Powered Security Inc is formed, as subsidiary of Sustainable Future Tech Inc

  • Founder: Filed provisional patent application for Hybrid Neural Network System for Urban Climate Action Planning with Multi-Sector Optimization and Interpretability (NRM-City), January 25, 2025
  • Founder: Filed nonprovisional patent application for Solar Thermal Combined Heating, Cooling, and Power System and Associated Control Methods (ZNEH), January 23, 2025
  • Founder: Filed provisional patent application for Hybrid Classical-Quantum System for Tokenized Bitwise Conversation-Level Anomaly Detection in Real-Time Communication Traffic (Q-PAD), January 11, 2025 (QPS)

  • ZNEH: Founder designs the Solar Thermal Micro Combined Heating and Power System; performed key control system development

2019 – The Birth of Q-PAD

  • Founder: Attended conference Quantum and Natural Language Processing (QNLP), University of Oxford, December 2019. Q-PAD was conceived at the conference dinner table in the Bodleian Library. Unfortunately, none of the quantum physicists understood networking data protocols or what John was talking about—but he definitely grok’ed what they were saying 🙂
  • Founder: Consumed and internalized Quantum Machine Learning (Wittek, 2014) in full—laying the groundwork for cross-disciplinary quantum-AI work,
