Accessibility Commitment

Sustainable Future Tech, Inc. is committed to making its public website and digital information usable by the broadest practical range of people, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technologies.

Accessibility is an ongoing design, content, testing, and remediation responsibility. We seek to identify barriers, improve the accessibility of new and existing content, and provide a practical way for visitors to tell us when something is difficult or impossible to use.

Standards-Informed Design

SFT uses WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a design and remediation reference target for the public website.

Accessibility Is Ongoing

New content, changing technology, third-party services, and legacy material can introduce barriers that require continuing review and improvement.

Tell Us About a Barrier

If you cannot access information or complete an action, contact SFT so we can investigate the issue and work toward a practical resolution.

Section 01

Our Commitment

Sustainable Future Tech believes that public digital information should be designed so that people can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with it using a range of devices, input methods, and assistive technologies.

We therefore seek to incorporate accessibility into the design, development, writing, publishing, and maintenance of the SFT public website rather than treating accessibility solely as a correction made after content is published.

This commitment applies to public corporate, technology, research, publishing, collaboration, and informational pages maintained by SFT.

Section 02

Accessibility Standard

SFT uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA as a reference target for the design, review, and remediation of its public website.

This target helps guide decisions involving page structure, keyboard access, text alternatives, contrast, focus visibility, responsive layouts, forms, navigation, and other aspects of accessible digital content.

This statement is a commitment and design target, not a blanket certification of conformance. Website content, third-party components, documents, legacy material, or newly introduced functionality may contain accessibility issues. SFT intends to address identified barriers as part of continuing website maintenance.

Section 03

Accessible Website Design

SFT seeks to build accessibility into the structural design of the website. Depending on the page and content, accessibility considerations include:

Semantic Structure

Use meaningful headings, sections, navigation elements, labels, links, and document structure so content relationships can be understood beyond visual presentation alone.

Responsive Layouts

Design content to remain usable across desktop, tablet, mobile, zoomed, and reflowed presentations without depending on a single screen size.

Clear Language

Present technical and institutional information with meaningful headings, clear labels, understandable navigation, and sufficient context for links and actions.

Predictable Interaction

Seek consistent navigation, controls, focus behavior, and interaction patterns so that visitors do not need to relearn basic website behavior from page to page.

Section 04

Keyboard Access & Navigation

SFT seeks to make important website functions usable without requiring a mouse or other pointing device.

Our design approach includes attention to logical keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, accessible links and controls, modal focus management, escape behavior where appropriate, and avoiding keyboard traps.

Navigation order and interactive behavior should remain understandable when visitors use a keyboard or compatible assistive technology.

Section 05

Visual Accessibility

SFT seeks to maintain readable typography, sufficient contrast, clear hierarchy, visible interaction states, and layouts that remain usable when text is enlarged or content is viewed on smaller screens.

Information should not depend solely on color when another visual or textual distinction can communicate the same meaning.

Where motion or animation is used, SFT seeks to respect device or browser preferences for reduced motion when technically practical.

Section 06

Images, Publications & Other Content

SFT publishes technical information in multiple forms, including webpages, diagrams, figures, books, reports, research papers, downloadable documents, and links to external repositories.

For website images that convey meaningful information, SFT seeks to provide appropriate text alternatives or equivalent contextual information.

Complex scientific diagrams, architecture figures, mathematical material, tables, research publications, and long-form documents can present additional accessibility challenges. Where a visitor encounters a barrier in SFT-controlled content, we encourage the visitor to contact us so we can evaluate an appropriate alternative or remediation.

If you need information from an SFT-controlled document in a different usable format, tell us which document or page you are trying to access and the difficulty you encountered. We will make reasonable efforts to identify an appropriate way to provide the information.

Section 07

Forms, Scheduling & Interactive Features

Forms and interactive controls should use understandable labels, instructions, focus behavior, and error information so that visitors can determine what is required and complete an intended action.

SFT also provides access to an external scheduling service for visitors who wish to arrange a conversation. Because that service is operated using third-party technology, accessibility of the scheduler may depend in part on the accessibility of that provider’s platform.

If an interactive feature prevents you from contacting SFT or completing an intended action, please use the SFT contact page to report the issue and describe the action you were attempting to complete.

Section 08

Third-Party Websites & Services

SFT links to independent resources such as DOI repositories, Zenodo, arXiv, GitHub, standards organizations, academic institutions, government websites, scheduling services, and other external platforms.

SFT does not control the accessibility implementation of independent third-party websites or services.

When an external resource is essential to understanding SFT-controlled content and an accessibility problem prevents meaningful access, visitors may contact SFT so we can determine whether an alternative SFT-controlled source or explanation can reasonably be provided.

Section 09

Reporting an Accessibility Barrier

Accessibility feedback helps SFT identify problems that may not be apparent through design review or automated testing.

If you encounter a barrier, please contact us and, where practical, include:

  • the webpage, document, or feature you were trying to use;
  • the URL or title of the affected content;
  • a brief description of what happened or what you were unable to access;
  • the browser, device, or assistive technology involved, if you believe that information may help us reproduce the issue; and
  • the information or action you were trying to obtain or complete.

You do not need to disclose a disability or medical condition in order to report an accessibility problem.

Section 10

How We Approach Remediation

When SFT receives a sufficiently specific accessibility report involving content or functionality we control, our intended process is to understand the barrier, determine an appropriate response, and incorporate the resulting improvement into the website where practical.

Step 01

Receive

Review the reported page, document, control, or interaction and the information supplied by the visitor.

Step 02

Investigate

Attempt to reproduce or otherwise understand the accessibility barrier and determine whether it is controlled by SFT or a third party.

Step 03

Address

Where practical, correct the underlying issue or identify an alternative way for the visitor to obtain the information or complete the action.

Step 04

Improve

Use relevant findings to improve templates, content practices, components, or future website development when appropriate.

Section 11

Limitations & Areas for Continuing Attention

SFT’s website contains a mix of current webpages, technical publications, diagrams, downloadable files, historical material, external repositories, and third-party services. Accessibility may therefore vary across resources.

In particular, older documents, complex technical diagrams, mathematical notation, independently hosted research publications, archived files, and third-party interfaces may require additional accessibility work or may be outside SFT’s direct control.

Identifying a limitation does not mean SFT considers the barrier acceptable. It recognizes that accessibility is an ongoing process and helps establish where remediation or alternative access may be necessary.

Section 12

Continuing Improvement

SFT expects its website, publications, research portfolio, and digital services to continue evolving. Accessibility considerations should evolve with them.

As new pages and features are introduced, SFT intends to continue improving semantic structure, responsive behavior, keyboard interaction, focus visibility, readable typography, alternative text, form usability, reduced-motion behavior, and other accessibility characteristics.

Accessibility feedback from visitors is part of that improvement process.
