Milestones, Not Marketing Activity

This page is intended to document developments that change the state of SFT’s work: a specification is released, a research architecture becomes publicly citable, a major technical manuscript reaches a defined edition, external research funding is awarded, a validation stage is completed, or another substantive outcome becomes available.

Research programs do not all move at the same speed or through the same pathway. A meaningful milestone in one program may be a public technical specification; in another it may be validation evidence, a research result, an intellectual-property event, a grant award, an academic collaboration, or a publication.

Future plans, proposals, active work, anticipated launches, and other prospective activity are not milestones. This page is not a roadmap. Items are added only after the underlying event or outcome has actually occurred.

Completed

Milestone entries describe events or artifacts that have actually occurred rather than intended future outcomes.

Material

The event should materially advance research, architecture, validation, publication, implementation, adoption, or commercialization readiness.

Evidence-Based

Where practical, milestone claims should connect to a publication, versioned artifact, grant award, repository, DOI, review, or other verifiable evidence.

Maintained

This is a living record. New completed developments are added in reverse chronological order as evidence becomes available.

Milestone Categories

Scan the Record by the Kind of Evidence Created

Milestones can matter for different reasons. These lightweight categories identify the primary kind of evidence created by an event without implying that every category is represented at every stage of SFT’s development.

Research

Completed research results, architectures, methods, or formal technical advances.

Publication

Released books, specifications, preprints, papers, bodies of knowledge, or versioned public artifacts.

IP

Substantive intellectual-property events, recorded only when the event has actually occurred.

Validation

Completed testing, independent review, technical validation, benchmark, pilot, or other evidence event.

Academic

Completed university, faculty, research, or other substantive academic engagement.

Education

Actual learner or program launches, registrations, institutional adoption, or completed educational activity.

Grant / Funding

Competitive grant awards, sponsored-research funding, and other completed external funding events supporting research or validation.

Commercial

Actual licenses, enterprise engagements, sponsorships, commercialization events, or other completed market activity.

Categories are descriptive, not predictive. A grant award, sponsor relationship, license, enterprise engagement, learner launch, registration milestone, institutional adoption, or validation event belongs here only after it occurs and can be described factually. The absence of a category from the current timeline should not be read as a forecast, commitment, or deficiency.
Selected Developments

Recent Milestones

The record below highlights substantive completed developments across SFT. Entries are kept in reverse chronological order and use milestone categories to help readers identify the evidence most relevant to them. The list is intentionally selective rather than a record of routine project activity.

AGCP Founders Cohort Closes as Registry Launch Preparation Begins

AGCP.ai closed the AGCP Founders Cohort to new participants, marking a transition from the early cohort-based assessment phase toward preparation for public launch of the AGCP Registry. Existing Founders Cohort systems continued through assessment while Registry launch preparation moved into its next phase.

Forward-looking context: At the time of the announcement, AGCP.ai was targeting 10 systems for the Registry’s initial launch and anticipated approximately 60 days to complete remaining Founders Cohort assessments and prepare the Registry for public availability. Following launch, organizations are expected to be able to submit systems for paid Registry Assessment against AGCP.ai requirements.

Evidence: Public AGCP.ai announcement dated August 7, 2026 documenting closure of the Founders Cohort to new participants and the transition into Registry launch preparation.

Governance Compilation Reaches Preprint Stage

Governance Compilation: A Reference Model for Translating Human Governance into Machine-Evaluable Controls reached preprint status, extending SFT’s runtime-governance work into the problem of compiling human governance requirements into structured, machine-evaluable control artifacts.

Evidence: Versioned preprint within the Runtime Governance Engineering publication program.

Publication Education

Runtime Governance Body of Knowledge First Training Edition

Sustainable Future Tech Publishing completed the First Training Edition of the Runtime Governance Body of Knowledge for Artificial Intelligence and Other Autonomous Systems, establishing a structured body of knowledge around runtime-governance concepts, competencies, roles, assessment, and assurance.

Evidence: First Training Edition dated July 17, 2026.

ZNES Awarded $140,000 MIPS Phase II for Continued Technical Validation

Zero Net Energy Systems, Inc. and Prof. Lingnan Lin were selected to receive a Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) Phase II award for Zero Net Energy System: Modeling and Optimization. The Phase II MIPS award totaled $140,000, including the campus overhead contribution, and is matched by the company’s contribution.

The second-phase award continued the university-industry research and validation program following Phase I and supports further modeling, optimization, and technical evaluation of the Zero Net Energy System architecture.

The project was awarded on the basis of its potential to positively affect water quality within the Chesapeake Bay watershed and receives funding through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources through the MIPS program.

Evidence: Maryland Industrial Partnerships Phase II award dated June 25, 2026 to Zero Net Energy Systems, Inc. and Prof. Lingnan Lin for Zero Net Energy System: Modeling and Optimization; $140,000 MIPS award matched by the company.

Research Publication

Runtime-Governance Research Extends Into Hybrid Quantum Systems

SFT published technical work examining execution invariants and governance requirements for quantum and hybrid quantum-classical systems, extending runtime-governance reasoning into advanced-computing architectures.

Evidence: Toward Quantum Runtime Governance and Formal Execution Semantics and Governance Invariants for Hybrid Classical-Quantum Autonomous Systems.

AGCP Operating Model and Semantic Architecture Released

The AGCP research program released version 0.9 of AGCP Operating Model and Semantic Architecture: Proposal Schemas, Governance Context, Canonical State, and Commit-Bound Execution Semantics for Autonomous Systems as a public review draft.

Evidence: DOI-backed technical report, version 0.9.

Research Publication

Core Runtime-Governance Architecture Published

A sequence of technical publications established the architecture and execution semantics underlying SFT’s runtime-governance work, including Runtime Governance Architecture, formal safety invariants, the AGCP execution-layer control-plane model, and a cross-platform synthesis of runtime execution governance.

Evidence & Verification

Follow the Work, Not Just the Milestone

Many SFT milestones produce artifacts that can be examined directly: specifications, technical reports, research papers, versioned architectures, books, DOI records, grant awards, academic research relationships, or public repositories.

The publishing, research, platform, and program sections of this site provide the more appropriate location for detailed citations, release records, superseded versions, technical documentation, and current program status. This page provides the higher-level chronological view.

A Deliberate Record

Not Every Activity Becomes a Milestone

SFT conducts research, prepares proposals, holds discussions, explores partnerships, develops drafts, and performs internal engineering work continuously. Those activities matter, but they do not automatically belong on this page. The milestone record is intended for developments that materially change what exists, what has been demonstrated, what has received external support, or what can be independently examined.

Continue With the Evidence

Use the Timeline as a Record, Then Follow the Underlying Work

This page provides the chronological view. Program pages, publication records, repositories, research relationships, and other supporting artifacts provide the technical detail behind individual milestones.

Milestone and research information: This page is a selective, reverse-chronological record of completed Sustainable Future Tech developments and is not a roadmap or a record of every internal activity. Research, publication, intellectual-property, grant and sponsored-research, validation, academic, education, implementation, and commercial efforts may progress independently and at different rates. New milestones are added only after the underlying event has occurred. Current program pages and formal publication records should be consulted for the most specific technical, version, maturity, citation, funding, and availability information.
